Alternative Treatment for Prostate Cancer
Excluding skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in North America; it is typically found in men over the age of 50, yet it also has genetic patterns associated with it. In North America, African American men have a greater risk of developing and dying from prostate cancer. The risk of developing prostate cancer is doubled if one of your immediate family members has it.
Although some people with prostate cancer live just fine and die of old age, it is still a major concern because it has serious symptoms and can be fatal. It is very hard to detect prostate cancer at an early stage. Prostate cancer grows very slowly and it is likely that it won’t show any symptoms at all in the early stages. This dormant phase of prostate cancer is the reason why some senior men live with it until they die of other causes. Prostate cancer is a very serious matter, it has the following symptoms:
- Need to urinate frequently
- Difficulty starting or stopping urination
- Decreased flow of urine
- Sense of incompletely emptying bladder
- Burning sensation during urination
- Blood in urine or semen
- Painful ejaculation
- Pain or stiffness in lower back, hips or upper thighs
- Death
Specialists have that dieting is a very important step in fighting and preventing prostate cancer. Animal fat promotes the growth of prostate cancer. Red-meat is especially bad if you have prostate cancer. Make sure to limit the intake of animal fat once you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Increase your omega-3 intake by eating more fresh fish. Avoid eating trans-fatty acids found in fried foods. Avoid high amounts of calcium, zinc, preserved or salted foods and flax seed oil as they are known to increase prostate cancer growth. Take vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E and folic acid supplements daily. Drink green tea, eat red grapes and eat dark green salads. This diet will greatly reduce the growth of your prostate cancer and allow you to live a healthier, longer life.
